Consistent customer Leads for mechanics
Get Customers as low $4.13/lead and average $10-$15
We build and run systems for Australian workshops that just work or we give your money back. We take care of Social media or Google Ads campaigns; Keywords, ads, tracking, targeting and landing page work are handled here, so you can get back to what is on the hoist.
No fees payable to us for the first two months. No lock in contract.
Depending on services offered
Who this is for
Owner led automotive businesses that are established, doing good work, and not getting enough of the right enquiries.
General mechanical workshops
Bays sitting empty, unpredictable weeks, or a diary that only fills through referrals and repeat customers.
Tyre shops and alignment specialists
Competing on price against franchises and needing enquiries for the work that actually carries margin.
Auto electricians and specialists
Diagnostics, air conditioning, auto electrical — higher value work that people search for specifically.
Mobile mechanics
A service area rather than a shopfront, which needs a different targeting approach to a fixed workshop.
Workshops with staff to keep busy
Mechanics and apprentices on wages, where a quiet fortnight is expensive and a full diary pays for itself.
Owners burned by an agency before
Paid a monthly fee, never saw a number that meant anything, and stopped. Fair enough — that is why our fees are deferred.
What we actually do
The full campaign, handled here. This is what those 20 to 30 hours in the first two months go into, and what continues every month after.
Planning and research
Account review, keyword research using existing automotive lists from previous workshop campaigns, competitor and local demand check, budget recommendation.
Campaign build
Campaign and ad group structure kept tight, responsive search ads written per ad group, negative keyword lists from day one, location and service targeting set to your radius.
Tracking
Call tracking, form tracking and conversion tracking in place before the first click. Spam and duplicate enquiries identified so the numbers are real.
Landing pages
Review of where the traffic is going, recommendations on what is stopping enquiries, and a focused page built where that is the fix. We confirm whether it is included or quoted separately first.
Ongoing optimisation
Search term reviews, negative keyword additions, bid adjustments, ad and keyword testing, budget advice as the picture becomes clearer.
Reporting and advice
Regular reporting on enquiries and cost per enquiry, plus straight advice on what to fix next — including the parts that are not advertising.
What it costs, in full
Two separate things: what you pay Google, and what you pay us. Worth keeping them apart.
What you pay us
Nothing for the first two months.
We build and run the campaign.
After 2 months you decide if you want to continue.
If you continue, the deferred fees become payable — the setup fee and the two months of management already done — then it is a straight monthly fee from month three, charged to your nominated card. No lock in contract, cancel any time.
If you decide not to continue, there is nothing to pay. No exit fee, nothing to cancel.
Where an account genuinely needs longer to settle, we sometimes extend the deferred period to three or four months rather than ask you to decide on incomplete information.
What you pay Google
Your advertising budget goes to Google directly, on your own card, in an account in your name. You set the daily limit and can change or pause it any day.
For many workshops we suggest starting near $30 a day, then adjusting once we can see what a click and an enquiry actually cost in your area. The right figure depends on your location, competition, services, search volume, click costs, how many suburbs you cover and how much work you can take. Some competitors spend several hundred a day — that does not mean you have to.
About the lead cost figures
Around $10 per enquiry, and as low as $4.13 once up to speed.
From $4.13 per enquiry. A result from a tuned automotive campaign where the keywords, negatives, ads, landing page, tracking and follow up were all working together. It is a low point, not a starting point, and reaching that kind of figure generally takes six to twelve months of data and testing.
Around $10 per enquiry. The average across selected previous automotive campaigns. A more realistic number to plan against, though it still varies by service and suburb.
Neither is a guarantee, and we will not pretend otherwise. Your cost depends on your location, competition, service type, click costs, budget, page quality, campaign maturity, seasonality and how quickly you answer the phone.
At the end of the day its an equal playing field no mechanics going to pay $20 for pink slip leads
Why mechanic campaigns fail
Usually not the keyword. Usually one of these.
Wrong searches
Broad targeting pays for DIY guides, parts prices, apprenticeship queries and drivers in another city.
Generic pages
Every ad pointed at the homepage, so people have to hunt for the thing they searched for.
No call tracking
The phone rings, nobody knows which ad caused it, and the whole thing gets judged on a feeling.
Missed follow up
The enquiry arrives and rings out, or the quote goes out two days late. The ad worked; the job still went elsewhere.
Frequently asked questions
The first two months
What is included during the first two months?
Account and campaign build, keyword research, negative keyword lists, responsive search ads, location and service targeting, call and form tracking, landing page review and recommendations, then ongoing search term reviews, bid adjustments and ad testing.
How many hours do you spend on the campaign?
Typically 20 to 30 hours across the two months, weighted toward the build in the first fortnight.
Do I pay HypeDrive during the first two months?
No. Nothing is invoiced during that period.
Are the first two months free, or deferred?
Deferred. The fees exist and are stated upfront, but they only become payable if you decide to continue afterwards.
What fees become payable after two months?
If you continue: a $550 setup fee, $550 for the first month of management and $550 for the second, all including GST. Then $550 including GST monthly from month three.
What happens if I decide not to continue?
Nothing to pay. No exit fee and no contract to break. You keep the Google Ads account, the campaign build, the tracking and all the data.
Can the deferred period be longer than two months?
Sometimes. Where an account needs more time to gather enough data, we may extend it to three or four months, agreed with you in writing.
Fees and contract
How much is the setup fee?
$550 including GST, deferred and payable only if you continue after the initial period.
How much is ongoing management?
$550 including GST per month from month three, charged to your nominated card.
Are the prices including GST?
Yes. Every figure quoted includes GST.
Is there a contract?
No lock in contract at any stage.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. After the initial period it runs month to month.
Google Ads spend
Do I pay Google separately?
Yes. Advertising spend is entirely separate from our fees and is paid directly to Google.
Who enters the card into Google Ads?
The account and card are yours. You can enter it yourself, or we can walk you through it. We never take payment for advertising on your behalf.
Who owns the Google Ads account?
You do. It is created in your name, and the account, history and data stay with you if we stop working together.
How much should I spend per day?
Many workshops start near $30 a day. The right figure depends on your location, competition, services, click costs and how much work you can take.
Why do you recommend starting at around $30 a day?
It is usually enough to gather meaningful data within a reasonable timeframe, so the campaign can start improving rather than crawling.
Can I start with less than $30 a day?
You can, and sometimes it makes sense in a quiet market. Be aware that fewer clicks means slower learning, so it can take considerably longer to reach a good cost per enquiry.
What if my competitors spend hundreds a day?
Some do. A tightly targeted campaign in the suburbs you actually service can still work well on a modest budget, because you are not paying for clicks you were never going to convert. It does mean picking your battles rather than competing on every keyword.
Results and lead costs
Is $4.13 per enquiry guaranteed?
No. It is an achieved result from a mature, tuned campaign, not a promise and not a normal first month.
How did you achieve enquiries from $4.13?
Tight keyword targeting, a strong negative keyword list built from real search terms, ads matched to each ad group, a landing page built for that service, conversion tracking on calls and forms, honest geographic targeting, and months of cutting what was not paying.
How long can it take to reach the lowest lead cost?
Generally six to twelve months of data, testing and optimisation. Costs usually improve steadily rather than in one jump.
Is around $10 per enquiry guaranteed?
No. It is an average across selected previous campaigns, given so you have a more realistic planning figure than the headline one.
Do you guarantee results?
No, and be careful with anyone who does. We put proper tracking in place so you can judge the campaign on real numbers instead of our opinion.
Leads and tracking
What counts as a lead?
A tracked phone call over a set length, a completed form submission, or a message enquiry.
Do you track phone calls?
Yes. Most automotive enquiries are calls, so a campaign measured on forms alone is measuring a fraction of the result.
Do you track form submissions?
Yes, with a dedicated thank you page so conversions are counted once and counted properly.
Do you remove spam and duplicate leads?
Yes. They are identified and excluded from reporting so the figures reflect genuine enquiries.
Will I see the search terms and campaign performance?
Yes. It is your account and you have access. You also get regular reporting.
How often will I receive reports?
Regular reporting on enquiries and cost per enquiry, plus a plain English note on what changed and what is next.
Targeting and services
Can you target only selected suburbs?
Yes, and we usually start tight then widen as the data shows where enquiries actually come from.
Can you target all the suburbs around my workshop?
We can, though casting wide from day one normally produces a worse cost per enquiry than starting close and expanding.
Can I advertise only selected services?
Yes. Concentrating a modest budget on a few profitable services usually beats spreading it across everything you offer.
Can you exclude services I do not want?
Yes, through negative keywords and campaign structure.
Can the campaign be paused when my workshop is full?
Yes, any time. Pause it, wind the budget back, or narrow it to your highest value work for a while.
Website and landing pages
Can you help improve my existing website?
We review it, tell you what is stopping enquiries and recommend the changes worth making. Whether we make them depends on the scope, and we will confirm that in writing first.
Do you build landing pages?
Yes, where a focused page is the thing that will move results.
Is a landing page included in the monthly fee?
Not automatically. A landing page review and recommendations are included. Where a page needs building, we tell you whether it is included in the scope or quoted separately before any work starts.
What happens if my website does not convert?
We will say so before you spend money on clicks. Sending paid traffic to a page that does not turn visitors into calls is the fastest way to waste a budget.
Google Ads credit
Who qualifies for the $1,800 Google Ads credit?
Generally new Google Ads advertisers who meet Google's eligibility conditions and its qualifying spend requirement within the stated period.
Is the Google Ads credit guaranteed?
No. We assist with the application through our Google account management contacts, but Google decides.
When is the credit applied?
After the qualifying spend has been met within Google's stated period.
Is the credit paid as cash?
No. It is credit against future advertising costs, never paid out.
Does the credit refund my original advertising spend?
No. It applies going forward only.
Working together
How quickly can the campaign launch?
Usually within a week or two of the call, depending on access and whether landing page work is needed first.
What information do you need from me?
Your service area, the jobs you want more of, services you would rather not advertise, access to your website and any existing Google Ads account, and a card for the Google spend.
Do I need to answer calls quickly?
Yes. It is the part we cannot do for you and it has more effect on results than most campaign settings.
What happens if I miss incoming calls?
You lose the job, and usually without knowing it happened. Call tracking at least makes the problem visible so you can decide what to do about it.
Do you work with other mechanics in my area?
Ask on the call and we will tell you straight whether we already work with a competitor nearby.
How do you protect my campaign data?
Your account stays in your name and your data is not shared with other clients. Automotive keyword research and campaign structures we have developed are applied to your build, but your account performance is yours.
What makes HypeDrive different from a general marketing agency?
We only work with automotive businesses, so your campaign starts with existing keyword lists, negative lists and structures from previous workshop campaigns rather than a blank page. And we defer our fees, which most agencies will not do.
