Bills passion for his work shines through, and his attention to detail is unparalleled. The service was seamless, and the end product was fantastic. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
Google Ads for mechanics
Mechanic Leads From $4.13.
That is a real figure from a tuned automotive campaign, not a starting price. Selected campaigns have averaged around $10 an enquiry. What your workshop can reach depends on your suburb, your competition and the jobs you want — which is exactly what the free call is for.
No management fees upfront for the first two months. No lock in contract.
How a $4.13 enquiry actually happens
Nobody gets there on day one. That number is what is left after a lot of small things stop wasting money. Here is what has to be working at the same time.
Only the searches worth paying for
A driver typing "brake repairs near me" is worth money. Someone looking for brake pad prices, a mechanic apprenticeship or a workshop in another city is not. Most of the saving comes from refusing to pay for the second group.
The ad matches the search
Search for a pink slip, see an ad about pink slips. It sounds obvious and it is the single biggest reason one workshop pays half what another pays for the same click.
The page finishes the job
Same clicks, same cost. If twice as many people ring, your cost per enquiry halves without touching the budget. That is usually the cheapest improvement available.
Every enquiry is counted
Calls and forms both tracked. Without that you are guessing, and a campaign you cannot measure cannot be improved.
The radius is honest
People drive a long way on a recommendation and almost no distance for a routine service. Paying to appear forty minutes out is money spent on drivers who were never coming.
You answer the phone
This is the one we cannot do for you. A campaign at $4.13 an enquiry is worth nothing if half the calls ring out at 3pm on a Thursday.
Be careful with the number
Any agency can show you their best month. Here is the honest version of what that $4.13 means.
- It came from a mature campaign with enough history to know what works
- It is the low end, not the average — selected campaigns have sat around $10
- A new campaign normally starts higher and comes down as data builds
- Reaching the lowest costs can take six to twelve months of testing
- A cheap enquiry from the wrong service is not a win
We would rather tell you this now than have you expect $4.13 in week one and feel misled in week three.
What moves your cost per enquiry
Roughly in order of how much difference they make:
- Which searches you refuse to pay for
- How closely the ad matches what was typed
- Whether the page answers that exact search
- How fast the page loads on a phone
- Whether calls and forms are both tracked
- How tight the suburb targeting is
- How quickly you answer the phone
The last one is yours. The rest are ours, and most of the improvement comes from the first three.
What it costs you to find out
Two separate things, and it is worth keeping them apart in your head.
What you pay Google
Your advertising budget goes to Google directly, on your own card, in your own account. You set the daily limit and you can change it any day. For most workshops we suggest starting near $30 a day, then adjusting once we can see what a click and an enquiry actually cost in your area.
Go much lower and the campaign never gathers enough data to improve, which usually costs more in the long run.
What you pay HypeDrive
Nothing upfront. Our setup fee and the first two months of management are deferred, so you see the enquiries and judge the quality before any fee is payable. If you decide not to continue at the end of it, there is nothing to pay and nothing to cancel.
Fees are confirmed in writing before anything starts. Where an account needs longer to settle, we sometimes extend the deferred period to three or four months.
Google advertising credit
Eligible new advertisers may receive up to $1,800 in Google Ads credit after meeting Google's qualifying spend and eligibility conditions. We have Google account manager contacts and will help you apply, but Google decides. It is credit against future advertising, not cash and not a refund, and workshops that have advertised before usually will not qualify.
How it works
Free 30 minute call
Tell us your suburb, the jobs you want more of and what you spend now. We look at the local search demand and what those clicks tend to cost.
A straight read on your area
You get a realistic range for your suburb and services, not a best case number from someone else's campaign.
Build, track, improve
If it stacks up, we build it, put tracking on before the spend starts, and keep cutting what does not pay.
Questions worth asking
Is $4.13 per enquiry guaranteed?
No, and nobody can honestly guarantee it. It is a result achieved in a tuned automotive campaign where the keywords, ads, page, tracking and follow up were all working together. Your cost depends on your service, suburb, competition and how quickly you answer.
How did you get to $4.13?
Tight keyword targeting, a long negative keyword list built from real search terms, ads matched closely to each ad group, a landing page built for that service, and conversion tracking on both calls and forms. Then months of cutting what was not paying.
Is around $10 per enquiry guaranteed?
No. That is an average across selected previous campaigns, offered so you have a more realistic figure than the headline one. Some services and suburbs sit above it.
How long before my cost per enquiry settles?
Expect movement in the first month or two as the campaign learns. Reaching the lowest costs generally takes six to twelve months of data, testing and optimisation.
What counts as an enquiry?
A tracked phone call over a set length, a completed form, or a message enquiry. Wrong numbers, sales calls, duplicates and obvious spam are identified and excluded so the numbers you judge us on are real.
Do you track phone calls as well as forms?
Yes. In this industry most enquiries are calls, so a campaign measured on form fills only is measuring a fraction of the result.
Do I pay HypeDrive during the first two months?
No. Our setup and management fees are deferred. They become payable only if you decide to continue at the end of the period. If you do not continue, there is nothing to pay.
Do I pay Google separately?
Yes. Advertising spend goes to Google directly from your card in your own account, and is entirely separate from our fees. You control the daily budget.
Why do you suggest starting around $30 a day?
It is usually enough to gather meaningful data within a reasonable time. Below that, clicks are thin, the campaign learns slowly and it takes much longer to know whether it works. Some workshops need more, and some competitors spend several hundred a day.
Who owns the Google Ads account?
You do. It is set up in your name on your card. If we ever part ways the account, history and data stay with you.
Can you advertise only the services I want?
Yes, and we usually recommend it. Advertising every service you offer spreads a small budget thin. Picking the profitable ones normally produces a better cost per enquiry and better jobs.
What if my website does not convert?
We will tell you before you spend money. Sending paid clicks to a page that does not turn visitors into calls is the fastest way to waste a budget. Where a focused landing page is the fix, we will say whether it is included or quoted separately.
What if my area is very competitive?
Then a narrower service focus usually beats bidding on general mechanical work. If ads are not the right first move for you at all, we will say so on the call.
How do you know the automotive market?
HypeDrive works with mechanics, tyre shops, auto electricians and mobile mechanics. That means existing keyword lists, negative lists and campaign structures from previous automotive work, so your campaign does not start from a blank page.
What should a customer cost you?
Tell us where you are and the work you want more of. We will look at the local demand, what those clicks cost, and give you a realistic range for your suburb.
